President Truman

appointed the first black judge in federal court system and some progress was made towards racial integration in schools, restaurants and transportation in the South by Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson, despite congressional opposition.
The black themselves, led by people like The Reverend Martin Luther King ( famous speaker, reformator: “I have a dream that my 4 little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character”), became increasingly active in attempting to improve their statues.
The 1960s were one of the most dramatic decades in U. S history ever.
